This allows potential risks to be effectively identified while maintaining business continuity.

Butzbach, March 20, 2025 – RIEDEL Networks, provider of customized IT security and network services, supports companies with its Red Skull Vulnerability Assessment Service in identifying potential vulnerabilities at an early stage and strengthening their IT infrastructure in the long term. This solution can now also be used separately from the RIEDEL Enterprise Defense [R.E.D.]Suite as a stand-alone service.

“In today’s digital landscape, it is essential for companies to continuously monitor their networks for security vulnerabilities. But without the necessary expertise and equipment, it is almost impossible to detect existing vulnerabilities in the corporate network,” explains Dennis Frankhauser, Head of Security Operations Center at RIEDEL Networks. “With our Vulnerability Assessment Service, we offer companies an efficient and effective solution to proactively secure their IT infrastructure and significantly reduce the risk of cyber attacks.”

The Red Skull Vulnerability Assessment Service is a streamlined and automated solution for detecting vulnerabilities and providing in-depth security analysis. Using state-of-the-art scanning technology and a pre-configured hardware appliance, the service enables a seamless process – from preparation to structured reporting. The scans are non-disruptive: they do not attack any devices, do not change any system files and place a minimal burden on the network.

Customers work closely with RIEDEL Networks’ Security Operations Center (SOC) directly from Germany as early as the preparation phase: The scan area (scope) is defined together, technical requirements are coordinated and the scanner is configured remotely. The SOC ensures that the assessment is carried out in a secure, structured manner with comprehensive coverage of all relevant systems. It then analyses the results, prioritizes the vulnerabilities according to severity and exploitability and prepares a detailed report with specific recommendations for action.

Vulnerability assessment is not a one-off measure, but an integral part of an ongoing security strategy. Regular checks and adjustments to protective measures are essential, as the IT infrastructure remains vulnerable even after existing vulnerabilities have been rectified – for example, due to new software versions or patches that may inadvertently introduce new security gaps. These need to be identified at an early stage before they are exploited by attackers.

The Red Skull Vulnerability Assessment Service, which can also be used separately from other security components, is part of the RIEDEL Enterprise Defense [R.E.D.] solution. In addition to a 24/7 Security Operation Center (SOC) and managed SIEM with central log management, the Managed Security Service also includes SOAR and UEBA functions and is supplemented by Extended Detection & Response (XDR). The overall package enables continuous monitoring, real-time threat detection and rapid response to IT security incidents and, as a managed service, ensures a robust security environment – especially in the face of a constantly evolving threat landscape.
