RIEDEL NETWORKS CELEBRATES MEDIA HOUSE OPENING IN COLOGNE-LÖVENICH

Cologne, April 23, 2024: RIEDEL Networks celebrates the opening of the RIEDEL Networks Media House in Cologne-Lövenich. Since the beginning of the season, highlights production of the UEFA Champions League has been carried out on behalf of Sunset+Vine at RIEDEL Networks Media House, which is broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. Now the time had come and RN Media House, together with its partners BMS Productions, Team KaPrese and wige Solutions, had invited friends and partners from the media industry to the official opening – including representatives from DFL, DYN Media, RTL, Sportcast, Sporttotal, WDR, ZDF and ZDF Digital. The presence of former professional footballer Felix Kroos, who is now active as a soccer expert and podcaster, was also pleasing.

The successful application of the latest technical trends in streaming and remote production was presented in an atmosphere of good humor. The concept of remote production makes it possible to produce audiovisual content from remote locations in the RIEDEL Networks Media House without the need for OB trucks and the entire production team to be at the venue. This enables considerable savings in personnel travel costs and the elimination of an immense logistical effort. An approach that not only contributes to environmental friendliness, but also enables the team to return to their families as soon as the production work is completed. Cologne was chosen as the location because the city is an important center of the German media landscape, with numerous local production companies.

The special feature of the RIEDEL Networks Media House is that the video, streaming and intercom services are managed internally. Productions at RIEDEL Networks Media House therefore benefit from extensive know-how and a reliable and globally connected network. With more than 20 years of experience in the media and event industry, RIEDEL Networks knows the crucial role that flawless connectivity plays in the production of (large-scale) events. In addition, Justus Rogmann, an SRT expert in the team, has in-depth knowledge of Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) and is a leading member of the SRT Alliance, which focuses on the latest technologies and standards in the real-time transmission of video content.

“The focus at the Cologne site is on further advancing our network expertise with a broadcast front end for our customers,” says Christian Haberer, Senior Technical Manager at RIEDEL Networks.
