Butzbach, September 2, 2024: RIEDEL Networks, provider of tailormade and secure telecommunication solutions, is pleased to introduce Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) expert Justus Rogmann as a valuable member of its team. With this strategic reinforcement, RIEDEL Networks is further expanding the area of real-time transmission of video content and sets a clear signal for the future development of the company. Rogmann has been part of RIEDEL Networks’ Media Division since January 2024 and, as a specialist in the SRT field, enriches the team with his many years of experience and in-depth technical knowledge. “We are very proud to have gained a highly respected expert in the industry for RIEDEL Networks. With his in-depth technical knowledge and his role in the open source community, Justus Rogmann is considered an expert in SRT applications and implementations,” says Timo Koch, Chief Commercial Officer at RIEDEL Networks. “His expertise is a significant advantage for us, as he will play a key role in driving our SRT-based solutions forward and providing our customers with the best possible service.” Justus Rogmann brings over 20 years of experience in the live streaming sector to his new position and is one of the key designers of the SRT protocol. The expert worked for over twelve years at Haivision – developer of the SRT protocol and founding member of the SRT Alliance – and contributed to the progress and improvement of the protocol as part of the SRT development team. He developed realistic test procedures that made it possible to comprehensively test new functions and code optimizations and to make the SRT protocol more robust. SRT is a protocol that has established itself as a standard in the broadcast and streaming industry. It enables the secure, reliable and low-latency transmission of video data over volatile networks. With the ever-increasing demand for high-quality live broadcasts and real-time communication, SRT has become indispensable for excellent video quality and low delays. The protocol allows content to be encrypted in near real-time and transmitted over long distances without loss of quality. Thanks to the use of error correction techniques such as ARQ, FEC and redundant multiple paths, SRT ensures that all data packets are received reliably and error-free, even in the event of network problems. “I am very pleased to be able to contribute my expertise in the SRT field at RIEDEL Networks and to be involved in the further development of our solutions,” says Justus Rogmann. “From September 13, I will be at this year’s IBC in Amsterdam and will be happy to report more about these developments.”
