IT security in the media sector

Protecting media productions from cyber threats

In today’s media landscape, where IP-based standards are often integrated, IT security is becoming increasingly important. The advantages of digital networking are undeniable – they offer flexibility, efficiency and innovative possibilities. However, these benefits also come with security risks.

To ensure that media infrastructures remain protected, a strong IT security infrastructure is essential. Our tailor-made solutions offer comprehensive protection through advanced DDoS protection, robust firewall systems and precise access controls with multi-factor authentication (MFA). In addition, we have a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) that continuously monitors our customers’ networks and detects anomalies.

Pushing the boundaries in sport

“Dyn Media doesn’t have a dedicated person to look after the external network, so Riedel’s managed services package was a must. Riedel set up a typical MPLS network to push the boundaries in sports. The network is expensive, but the total cost of ownership is lower, and we pass those savings on to our subscribers. I think there can be a big market for network operators in Europe and Australia, where there are a lot of competitions and a lot of traveling. While simultaneous broadcasts of on-site productions multiply personnel costs, remote production saves a lot of time and energy.”

RIEDEL Networks Customer: DYN Media

Andreas Heyden, CEO at Dyn Media GmbH

Riedel connects two worlds for us: Broadcast and IT. When it comes to broadcasting a first-class event like Formula 1, a strong and reliable partnership is an absolute must. We have been working with Riedels RiLink for many years. As soon as the fiber optic cable is connected to our production unit, all systems wake up, immediately connect to their hosts and start sending files or messages.
